Battlefield Heroes

Well you may remember I did a blog post about first person shooters. Well now here is a post about a third person shooter. It is called battlefield heroes and is a cartoon like third person shooter you are either a Royal (Allied) or National (Nazi) soldier and you can be infantry, heavy gunner or comando. It is a great free game and again you can buy more ingame items for real cash but there is no need as even the standard weapons are fine. it is well worth a look so head to http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/ to try it.

Level R

Well i have been busy doing the website, forum and google chrome extensions lateley so i havent posted for a while but now i have something great.

This is a racing game called Level R and as with all software featured here it is free. You can download it from the website here. It is the European version of Project Torque so if you live in the usa then do a search for Project Torque. It is a great game with lots of game modes including normal races, capture the flag and speedway racing. You buy a car and then upgrade it to beat the opposition and earn more cash to buy ne cars and upgrades. As with a lot of games like this you can pay real money to get some ingame cash. This is a great free game that is being updated constantly so there are always new features.

Wormux

Remember worms? Those small 2d worms that liked to blow each other up. Well now there is a free clone of it that is always being updated so new features are still to come. Just go to: http://www.wormux.org/ and download it. The multiplayer feature is really great although there are only really players online after school/work and not normally very many. I would say that this is well worth a try for all of you people with some time to spare. (and happy easter :D)

First Person Shooters

Today I have some first person shooter games for you:


Operation 7. This is a great online multiplayer game that is based on modern combat. A big feature of this game is the weapon modification. You can change every component of your weapon from the barrel to the scope to the grip. The maps are quite small but it is my favourite fps.

Cube 2: Sauerbraten. This is an open source game that is great for multiplayer fun. You are a fictional character and you can just jump into the game. You either get a set gun at the beginning of the game or you start with a pistol and collect more guns around the level. The graphics are very nice and this game is well worth a try if you want a truly free game. Go to http://sauerbraten.org/ to try it out.

Quake Live. If you want to conserve some disc space then try this out. It is a fps that you play in your browser. It works with IE, Firefox and Safari. It just downloads a small file to your hard disc and then you can play for free. This is a classic Quake game. Monsters vs monsters in an arena online and all completely free. Try the fun at http://www.quakelive.com/.

Make your webcam 3D

Do you have 2 similar webcams. Want to put them together to make 1 3D webcam. then try the trial software at http://www.riverpast.com/en/prod/cam3d/. I haven't got 2 webcams so I haven't tried it but why don't you have a go. Just a quick one now but next time we will have a post about some first person shooters so see you then.

Track mania

If you are into pc gaming then you are likely to have heard of this. It is a free racing game called trackmania(although you can pay for more features). There are plenty of extra cars and tracks for it and if you want to make your own tracks the built in track editor is very easy to use. There are online and offline modes but it could get boring only on the offline modes. I would recommend trying this game and you could add me as a friend in game, beatleshelp1. Now for something really exciting (CamSpace)

Now this is truly exiting. It has been around for a while but is really one of a kind. Cam Space is software that enables you to control your pc with anything (a pen, a ruler or even your hand) using a webcam. So all you need is a webcam then go to www.camspace.com and download the software. Then you are away. It is truly amazing technology. It works best with brightly coloured objects so I use a coloured felt tip pen. My favourite game is LudoRace that is a Mario cart like game. The best thing is it is completely compatible with Cam Space. So download it here and have a go.
